Moving On

I try to calm the inflation of my own expectations Keep my inhibitions under wraps But in my mind I know that I Can't stop them when they arise It's just a part of me I can't hold back So when I'm thinking of what's coming next I try not to expect the best But I always fill my heart with sweetest hope Then I'm surprised and die inside When no good things materialise And the bitter truth makes it hard to cope I will move on Let it go I'll let everyone know That defeat made me strong And if it takes a thousand days I will surely find a place Where for once I won't get it wrong The worst part is before you're told Your anxieties are manifold You don't know who to turn to for respite You're sitting home, you're all alone And twisted thoughts from the unknown Like monsters, come to tear and claw and bite It happens all the time I know I'm not the only one to show Sadness when my work gets no return This hollow feeling in my chest Keeps me from ever getting rest But my failures are my fuel Just watch them burn I will move on Let it go I'll let everyone know That defeat made me strong And if it takes a thousand days I will surely find a place Where for once I won't get it wrong
