A Family Reunion

You know I've been thinking The family just ain't the same since big mama and daddy's been gone The family has just drifted apart Seems like the only way we talk now is on Facebook Growing up we had the best of times You know what I'm gonna do, I'm gonna call everybody And invite all the loved ones I hope they agree it's time for us once again to be a family It's time to honor the ones that are here Mandatory attendance let's make that clear It doesn't matter rich or poor we are family And we can do more Now, it's time for have a family reunion, a family reunion Now it's time, for a family reunion A family reunion Come one and come all It's on me to share with yall Let's join together as a family! Bring cousin Debra and uncle Lee We'll share memories for young and old Share with the children and show them who they are Let's join together and make big plans! Those who aren't doing well Let's lend them a hand! We'll make papa, ooh so proud Lean on each other and keep his name strong Time to have a family reunion, a family reunion Time to have a family reunion A family reunion Time to have a family reunion I know you remember when uncle John dropped the turkey And the dogs were fighting over the turkey That's when I learned about the five second rule right then and there And I know you remember when daddy, when daddy worked so hard, he fell asleep And fell face first into the potato salad And I'll be honest with you we ate that potato salad Mama sure could cook I want to tell you somebody who, who couldn't cook that was aunt Mary She couldn't cook a lick Was that macaroni and cheese or macaroni and sawdust, but uncle Willie sure did love her And he ate all he food, that's what I Miss I miss those people and I loved them so And I wish they were all here, let's just do this Let's have a great time Have a family reunion!
