Fog of War

The sound just hit my ears Same noise I've heard for years The drums of war are beating once again That old familiar ring Mockingbirds prepare to sing The same old song, the same old dance, the chant of death Oh Lord unstop my ears For it's your word I need to hear So I am guarded from the lies and fear I will not fall away Silver tongued devils lead astray Though I may falter I will find the way Open my eyes Help me to see what's coming This blackened sky No shining stars to guide me Where is the light In darkness truth is hiding Nothing but lies This fog of war is blinding Lord please anoint mine eyes Let the clay uncover their guise So I may see all of your works revealed And through the darkness light The torch of truth he does ignite Atrocities will not escape his sight Open my eyes Help me to see what's coming This blackened sky No shining stars to guide me Where is the light In darkness truth is hiding Nothing but lies This fog of war is blinding I'm lost searching I'm lost seeking I'm lost praying For a way to find you And in these troubling times We need His strength to help us fight Hold back the tide so He may break the seal Stand fast with hearts ablaze Empowered by His righteous ways When we become the change the change is real In darkest nights You are lamp at my feet I close my eyes And let your Spirit guide me I see the light Your truth is always shining Help me to fight This fog of war inside me
