歌词

What's underneath all the doctrines of grace?
Fundamentally, one word: sovereignty
God is sovereign
Not kind of sovereign, not mostly sovereign
Fully sovereign
Yeah, no additive, no mixture
Ain't nothing adequate, we be passing it on quicker
Than laxatives or swishers, we adamant on the scriptures
Ain't having it when they twist and attacking our only system
Cause everything that glitters ain't gold
And we ain't buying what they selling
Cause they get it from Rome, nope
Any additions and you're missing the boat
Cause no decision from a sinner gives unequivocal hope, yeah
They trying to say that God is obligated
If he save one he gotta try to save them all
They be mixing categories when they're not related
Then get mad when they find that he ain't playing ball
There's not a single religion in all the world
That's listed and when observed they'll turn and deny the grace of God
It's all about where you place it
The minute you try to contain it, force his hand
The finished product ain't grace at all
And that there is a discrepancy
I gotta tell 'em that I respectfully disagree
Cause a hundred and forty characters ain't enough
To share the sovereignty of God every time that they get at me
It's not necessity, we agree on that
But previnian grace, man, I don't see all that
Sorry, heart was darker than neon black
They preaching Jesus, good luck trying to get me on that, nope
Brushed it off when they stepped to me, dawg
What changed? You could say I was effectually called
And I ain't know I had a problem, couldn't get it resolved
Until he changed my heart and free will was never involved, nah
And that's grace homie
His ability to save ain't dependent on my faith homie
Plus scripture says that faith is a gift
So now I sit back and praise God that I'm placed in his grip
And ain't nothing ever snatching me out
So ask the Roman Catholic Church what they yapping about, huh?
Either his grace is sufficient or it isn't
I'm done with going back and forth wondering if I'm in yet
Tell 'em that they can replay the tapes
Cause your works fall short when performed in a state of grace
And there's all sorts of responses they try to make
Cause they're all sure that it's bound to be where they'll stay
But dear God if they only knew
That it ain't by my works, Lord, it's only you
I pray you peep what's coming out through your speakers
Cause scripture says there's no God
Seeker affections must be wholly new
And the way that he carried us got my mind blown
Prior to him I was in a valley of dry bones
Ezekiel 37, your boy was John Doe'd
Until he told your homie come forth so I could rise, oh
Now watch, you're gonna put that out there
And some people are gonna hear it and they're gonna believe
And some people are gonna hear the command to repent and believe
And they're gonna resist and say no
What's the difference between the two? One word, ready?
Grace, grace
Guys, if you can consider something and absorb it
It'll change you forever, this truth
Yeah, our God was never obligated
He ain't have to come down to save a single one
Still he sent his son Jesus so he could come and retrieve us
And that's the truth whether or not you believe it, son
Best believe that it ain't subject to change
While unbelievers all complain, I got nothing to say
Arminians turn and try to make a mockery of grace
And improperly replace all the doctrines of his grace
But every one of us is poverty stricken
And robbery driven while trying to tote some scholarly wisdom
All turn to our own way with velocity spitting
And mocking the scriptures thinking they were improperly written
Brushing off certain passages, priority driven
While ignoring the tough ones like we're not gonna listen
Trying to stick in proverbs while you knocking his wisdom is foolish
Keep it moving, that's a mock of religion, homie
Better yet, that's a mock of relationship
Cause you twist his words and knock him for saying it
Try to rob him of his glory, be the sovereign in the story
While you ignoring the potter that's shaping it
So the moral of the story
Cats can say it's sort of boring, ignoring my oratory
But these truths have put more issues to bed than dormitories
So we preach more alpha and omega than sororities
Eternal life is where our sights are set
And make the most of opportunities, you might repent
In the midst of sin we've only got this life to rep
Cause grace is God's riches at Christ's expense, yeah
So I pray you feel your way to him
But how we free when everyone is just a slave to sin?
Peep the situation, I know on the face it's grim
That one day when we die, every one of us is facing him
Listen, and when we set on the bar
Without absolute perfection he ain't letting us off, nope
Cause if he did he could never be God
He can't look on evil and we can't get it absolved, nah
Christians always gotta come with truth
The only way we could be saved is by a substitute
After he came to us, was beaten, took so much abuse
He rose up to the seat of his father so we can trust him too
So who's he save? I'd say he has the right to choose
And he shouldn't have to answer to the likes of you
But you say that ain't fair, ain't nothing like the truth
Fair equals hell and I'd rather take the mercy, dude
Here's the fact you gotta stare in the face
The only difference between us is unmerited grace, for real
No Christian could ever carry the weight
The only difference between us is unmerited grace, alone
Name the religion, name the god, name the religious text
What do they always distort?
Of course they distort who Jesus is, that always takes place
And counterfeit Christian cults, religions that ape Christianity
They distort the person of Jesus Christ
But what does every religion distort?
The grace of God and sin
They all do it
They always say sin is not so sinful
We're not so really bad off
But what they usually say about the grace of God
Is that it's not enough
Now it's rare to find any religion that will say grace isn't necessary
Almost every religion says grace is necessary
Mormonism says grace is necessary
Roman Catholicism says grace is necessary
Jehovah's Witnesses say grace is necessary
It's actually rare to find people who are truly Pelagian in their view
Believing that you don't really need the grace of God
That you've got the power in yourself to do it
It's rare to find that
Islam says grace is necessary
Allah must give you grace
You can't do it apart from him
So again, religions will generally say grace is necessary
However, it is only biblical Christianity
It is only the reformed faith that
Says that grace is not only necessary
But God's grace is sufficient
It's actually sufficient to accomplish what God commands of it
God's grace is sufficient
That means that God is able in his power
And with his love and mercy and grace
To raise people from the dead to life
Nobody can thwart his purposes
Nobody can stop God when he determines to save a rebel sinner
Nothing in the universe can stop him
The only reason you're sitting in this room today
Believing in Jesus Christ and trusting in him
Is because God loved you before the foundation of the world
Here's the thing, look
You might say something to that
You might say, "That's not fair"
And my answer to that is, "Yep"
Because what's fair is that God sends you and I to hell
What's fair is that we get what we deserve for our sins
That's fair
And if you say, "It's not fair that God chose me over them"
I'd say, "Exactly, it's not fair, it's mercy"
Fair would be giving you what you deserve
It was mercy
And if you say this, "But God, I don't deserve it"
My answer, "You're seeing it"
If you say this, "God, that makes you so gracious and so big
And me so unworthy"
I would say, "You're getting it"
That is the glory of God's grace in the gospel
