Yellow Sirens

My warning signals are piercing me

Blurring my vision, won’t let me be

Losing my balance, losing my stride

I’d give it all up for some peace of mind

I’ve tried covering my ears with graces

And I’ve tried looking in the darkest places

But only you dampen the sound

Of yellow sirens flashing down

They’ve grown in numbers over the years

These voices ringing between my ears

Its not a question of what they say

Its my uphill battle to keep them away

I’ve tried separating lines from spaces
