False hopes, false dreams

The smoke and the mirrors aren't all they seem

Lost truth, lost cause

Airbrushed lies with impossible flaws

Heads down, eyes shut

Imaginary lives, imperfections cut

Life through a lens, and viewed thru a filter

Bet the clouds aren't lined with silver

Hanging on to every like and follower

A self worth couldn't get much hollower

So step away from the false validation

And look away from our own reflection

We're headed in the wrong direction
