I woke up a little late

What a way to start the day

Poured myself a cup from the pot he made

Before he hit the road

A little quiet sounds good to me

Gives me time to sit and think

Put my empty mug and a spoon in the sink

And that’s when I saw his note

It said when you’re wide awake and moving round

There’s more of me scattered through the house

Good Morning Darlin’ on the kitchen table

Smiley face posted on a whole milk label

Hey good looking whatcha want me to be cooking tonight

I’m willing and able

The front door says I already miss you

Don’t forget to stretch left on my running shoes

Thinking what’s next

And the sidewalk says

You know I’ll be home soon

Another morning workout done
