I grew up in a house filled with nothing

So my mama gave us twice of the loving

Even though my dad was not around

I grew up in a full house

And all our family pictures were missing

People that were gone with the wind

And even though the sight of them was rare

My mama filled what wasn’t there

I learned to be tough because that’s what she had to be, oh

I thought that not good enough’s good enough for me, but

The kids have grown up and they left it
