Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. For me, everything changed when I heard Stevie Ray Vaughan's 'Pride and Joy' on Guitar Hero III. The controller was cool, but I knew as soon as I heard that song, I needed to know how to play it on a real 6 string. Life has never been the same since.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? John Mayer, Born and Raised Midland, On the Rocks Ruston Kelly, Dying Star Born and Raised and Dying Star are the most meaningful collections of music I've ever heard for me, in terms of songwriting. On The Rocks is what solidified for me, that a Texas boy, like myself, could make relevant Country music in modern times.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Roots Now” This song was written at a Liz Rose songwriting camp in Nashville. Liz, the legend herself, loved it so much that I wound up playing it with her at the Bluebird Cafe, less than 24 hours after it was written. I'll never forget that experience.
