Artist Biography
Among the '00s Brooklyn underground's best kept secrets, Company spiked earthy folk rock with decidedly modern twin guitars in a sound meshing the Band's rootsiness, the Clash's immediacy, and Pavement's looseness. Spawned from a collective of folksingers at Bard College and solidified as a quartet in New York City in 2001, the group boasted among their ranks three truly stellar singer-songwriters--Stephanie Rabins, Christopher Teret, and Adam Davison--with impactful, narrative songs made all the more resonant by their amber group harmonies. Underappreciated in their day, the band consistently enthralled a small but devoted following both live and on a handful of official releases.
