Danger Mouse: Influences
Here's what's inspired one of the most distinctive producers of the ‘00s.
Artist Biography
One of the early 21st century's most influential musicians and producers, Danger Mouse juxtaposes elements of rock, hip-hop, dance, and pop into an unmistakable approach that he likens to being an auteur. The mash-up sound of his early career laid the groundwork for the freewheeling style he developed in the years to come. His own projects have ranged from Gnarls Barkley and his boundary-breaking fusion of pop and hip-hop with CeeLo Green that spawned the 2006 smash hit "Crazy," to Broken Bells, an airy indie project with the Shins' James Mercer, and the 2022 Black Thought collaboration Cheat Codes, and Born Again with Jemini, recorded during the 2000s and released in 2023. As a producer, Danger Mouse has amassed a list of clients that includes Beck, Gorillaz, and the Black Keys, as well as Norah Jones and Adele.
