Singer-songwriter Dean Brody has won 16 Canadian Country Music Awards, including back-to-back Male Artist of the Year honors in 2012 and 2013.
∙ The US Army awarded Brody a commendation of appreciation for his 2008 debut single, “Brothers,” an emotional ballad about a younger brother seeing his older sibling going to war.
∙ In 2009, “Dirt Road Scholar” became CMT’s most-played music video by a new Canadian country artist.
∙ His Platinum-selling 2012 single “Canadian Girls”—a honky tonk tribute to the “irresistible, lovable trouble” females of the North—earned Brody his first No. 1 hit.
∙ Brody duetted with Terri Clark on a cover of Hank Snow’s 1950 No. 1 single “I’m Movin’ On” for her 2012 album, Classic.
∙ Ahead of his sixth studio album, CMT filmed the documentary Dean Brody & The Making of Beautiful Freakshow in 2016.
∙ “Can’t Help Myself,” his 2020 chart-topping single with The Reklaws, set the Canadian country radio record for most-played song in a single week.
