Artist Biography
Pianist Stefan's repertoire covers the well-known concertos plus solo works by many composers including fellow Romanian Enescu.
Stefan attended Bucharest's Dinu Lipatti Music High-School, then went on to London's Trinity Laban Conservatoire and the Royal College of Music, where he worked with Gordon Fergus-Thompson and Niel Immelman. He also did summer study at the Mozarteum. As with most young pianists, he participated in several competitions and festivals. At the beginning of his concert career, Stefan performed recitals primarily in Romania and the United Kingdom, with occasional appearances elsewhere in Europe. His concerto debut with orchestra took place in 2005 in Bacau, Romania. Stefan's first commercial album was a digital release entitled Just Another Spring in London, coming in the appropriate season in May 2014. It featured the music of Bach, Liszt, Scriabin, and Enescu. Three more digital albums followed, including The Gift of Soothing Piano, with works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and Tchaikovsky; and Evolution…, containing the music of Philip Glass, both released in 2016. ~ Patsy Morita
