Thanks to a round of online hype in the fall of 2007, singer-songwriter Eric Hutchinson went from being an aspiring artist to a pop sensation with his album SOUNDS LIKE THIS. Drawing inspiration from Billy Joel, Paul Simon, and Stevie Wonder in particular, Hutchinson performs tunes marked by his reedy vocals and playful sense of humor (see the title of his first release, THAT COULD’VE GONE BETTER), making him a kindred spirit to Jason Mraz and other like-minded acts. Hutchinson also received a boost from having his breezy single, “Rock & Roll,” featured in the 2008 film THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS 2.
