Artist Biography
Ersi Arvizu came to fame in the 1970s as a singer for the L.A. band El Chicano, who mixed Latin, rock, and R&B sounds, and scored a pop hit in 1973 with "Sabor A Mi." In 2004, she guested on Ry Cooder's concept album, CHAVEZ RAVINE; four years later, Cooder was the producer when Arvizu finally made her first solo album, FRIEND FOR LIFE. The album draws upon influences similar to those of El Chicano, and finds Arvizu working once again with some of her old musical cohorts.
