Hi-Tek: The Producers
He's no ordinary brother when it comes to making magic behind the boards.
Artist Biography
This respected producer/DJ debuted with Cincinnati crew Mood with the 1997 LP DOOM. While producing DOOM, Hi-Tek met Talib Kweli, forging a partnership with the Brooklyn lyricist under the name Reflection Eternal. As an in-house producer at Rawkus Records, Tek contributed to the Black Star album, the SOUNDBOMBING, and LYRICIST LOUNGE compilations, and produced the entire Reflection Eternal LP, TRAIN OF THOUGHT. Released in the midst of Rawkus’s burgeoning financial troubles, his solo debut, HI-TEKNOLOGY (2001), a 14-track effort featuring a mix of underground guests, suffered from a lack of promotion. Building his repertoire working with such big-name acts as G-Unit and Snoop Dogg in the early 2000s, Hi-Tek hit his stride in 2006 with his stellar sophomore LP, HI-TEKNOLOGY 2 on Babygrande.
