1929, USA. Based in New Jersey and working as a custodian, bluesman Brown developed a small local, but faithful, following. His part-time musical career received a boost when record producer Tom Rothrock set down some of Brown’s songs, which he mixed in a currently popular manner. The resulting 1999 recording debut, 70 Years Coming, was an intriguing blend of traditional blues and latter-day blues variations. Among songs recorded by Brown for the album are ‘Baby What’s Wrong With You?’, ‘Cry No More?, ‘There Was A Time’, and ‘Sing The Blues’.
