Artist Biography
Kyle Hunt grew up in the small town of Rice in central Texas. He didn't give much thought to making music for a living until he heard a tape of Robert Earl Keen at a construction site where Hunt was working. Keen's music inspired Hunt to take a hard look at the Texas music scene, and he began singing and playing anywhere he could. He began writing songs with his father, Steve Hunt, and formed the Kyle Hunt Band, which included drummer Jacob Williams, guitarist Rex Griffith, and bassist Colt Lawhon. Specializing in outlaw-flavored country and Southern rock, the KHB became a popular draw on the Texas circuit. The band independently released a debut album, My Way, which was eventually picked up by Endurance Records. The group's second album, entitled Ride, was released in 2007 by Smith Entertainment. ~ Steve Leggett
