Artist Biography
Los Yonic’s are a Mexican grupero band best known for their run of hits during the ’80s.
∙ Formed in 1975, the group achieved their first international success with 1979’s “Soy Yo,” which was a hit in Mexico and Central and South America, with modest US airplay.
∙ 15 super exitos was the first Los Yonic’s release to hit Billboard’s Regional Mexican Albums chart, peaking at No. 3 in 1985.
∙ “Corazón Vacio,” a major 1986 hit, earned the band a Grammy Award nomination for Best Mexican-American performance.
∙ The Grammy-nominated Pétalo y Espinas ranked No. 2 on Billboard’s year-end list of the Top Regional Mexican Latin Albums of 1988.
