Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I've always been a big music nerd. The Tragically Hip are a band that has probably influenced me the most as a Canadian musician. Gord Downie's lyrics have always pushed me to delve deeper into storytelling in a profound and enigmatic way.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? R.E.M., Automatic For The People Radiohead, The Bends The Tragically Hip, Day For Night I was asked this question in a job interview shortly after university. My answer remains unchanged. These remain the top 3 influential records for me.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “1000Ft” I'm driving through Palm Springs, reminded of REM's cover art for "New Adventures In Hi-Fi" (an incredibly underrated album, btw) and I just pictured someone running from their life. That ultimately became the song and the artwork.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I do this music thing for fun. For me it's the handful of people who look forward to a new song coming out, who will play it up at a cottage or for other friends.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I'd love for my band Joy Felt Analog to pick things up again. Writing and playing with those guys was such an amazingly fulfilling part of my life.
