Artist Biography
Mouloudji was a popular and versatile artist, actor, painter, and musician. Increasingly focused on his music career in the late '50s, he released politically charged material like Boris Vian's masterpiece "Le Déserteur," along with gentler hits like the moving "Comme un Petit Coquelicot" and "Si Tu T'Imagines." His acting career came to a close when he began raising the topic of media censorship at the height of the Indochina war, in a very charged atmosphere. He went on recording after this episode, but was slowly forgotten in the '70s and onward, though he was planning a comeback album at the time of his death in 1994. ~ Olivier Duboc
