Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was 9 years old when Nirvana's Nevermind album came out. My brother had a guitar, and taught me the opening riff of 'Come As You Are'. It was all I could play for a while, but I knew then that I wanted to be a musician.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Grandaddy, The Sophtware Slump Soundgarden, Superunknown Sparklehorse, It's a Wonderful Life Superunknown's production and songs are perfect! Sophtware Slump is a classic. Great songs and its production is 50% of what I strive for in my own music. It's a Wonderful Life is the other 50%. These albums continue to inspire me with each listen.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Silent” This was the first song I wrote for Under the Surface and it came as a direct result of losing my beloved cat, Pannie. It was written very soon after, so the emotions were still very raw, musically, I like the way it builds.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I was pretty excited to get on Bandcamp's "New & Noteworthy" section when "Under the Surface" was released.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? "Release an album" is probably the only bucket list item I've accomplished so far, so the list is still very long. Getting to work in some capacity with one of my musical heroes, Jason Lytle would certainly top the list.
