Artist Biography
Irish vocalist Nina Hynes spent two of her teenage years in Northern Ireland where she learned to play guitar and develop her voice. She then moved to France where she tested out her new-found talents by busking on the streets of Paris. Upon returning to Ireland, Hynes spent time alongside fellow struggling musicians Mundy and Paddy Casey during singer/songwriter nights at the International and ended up being picked up by local independent record label Reverb Records. Her six-song debut album Creation garnered favorable reviews in both Ireland and Europe. The time following the album's 1999 release was spent supporting touring acts such as Stereolab, Cat Power, and David Gray, as well as touring Europe with electronic composer Harold Budd. ~ Zac Johnson
