Stereos is a Canadian band, formed in Alberta, whose originality in a diverse 2009 market is commendable. The band, who formerly went by "Stand by Me" before realizing they may face copyright woes, have been together since 2006, and are best recognized for their sound, which combines elements of hip-hop and pop, creating a polarizing rock sound geared to the teenage masses of the new millennium. The band first found success when its members, Pat Kordyback, Miles Holmwood, Dan Johnson, Robert Chalifoux, and Aaron Verdonk, participated on the Canadian reality television program disBAND. The group's popularity following the show skyrocketed because of their unique approach to music, and their debut album was released late in 2009. ~ Matthew Chisling
