T-Wayne's Popular Music Videos
Artist Biography
Rapper T-Wayne broke through in 2015 with “Nasty Freestyle,” a viral hit that has been streamed hundreds of millions of times.
• Hailing from Abilene, Texas, T-Wayne was inspired to start freestyling by the Eminem movie 8 Mile. He’s also influenced by local heroes like Mike Jones, DJ Screw, and Bun B.
• True to its name, “Nasty Freestyle” is a freestyle over the beat from Bandit Gang Marco’s 2015 hit “Nasty.” After T-Wayne’s remix blew up, inspiring fans to post their own lip-sync and dance videos, T-Wayne signed with 300 Entertainment. The label re-released the song and issued a remix with Ty Dolla Sign and Chedda Da Connect.
• T-Wayne followed his breakout success with a pair of introductory 2015 mixtapes, Who Is Rickey Wayne and Who Is Rickey Wayne 2.
• He released his Forever Rickey project in 2017, delivering more of his playful take on modern hip-hop with a generous use of melody in his flow.
• In 2020, T-Wayne guested on “Ultimate,” a collaborative dubstep track by Riot Ten and Shaquille O’Neal, aka DJ Diesel.
