Artist Biography
Tanya Tucker is an award-winning country music singer-songwriter whose career spans six decades.
∙ Tucker’s breakout hit came in 1972, when, at age 13, she recorded a country version of “Delta Dawn,” which later became a No.1 Pop smash for Helen Reddy.
∙ The Academy of Country Music recognized her as the Most Promising Female Vocalist in 1972.
∙ With 1978’s TNT, Tucker undertook a radical musical makeover, leading to a Gold-certified album and a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Vocal Performance, Female.
∙ What Do I Do with Me, released in 1991, produced four Top 10 Country hits and was her first album to be certified Platinum.
∙ She was the only woman included on CMT’s 2004 list The Dirty Dozen: Country’s Greatest Outlaws.
