Artist Biography
Long before anyone had heard of a Stroke or a White Stripe, Rochester’s Chesterfield Kings spent the dayglo 80s mining the musty garages of yesterday for secret nuggets of pop sound satisfaction. A favorite of “Little” Steven Van Zant, they’ve touched on the entire spectrum of 60s pop, from the hit sounds of the Rolling Stones, to acoustic blues, to the mossy underground crevices inhabited by the wildest and woolliest rockers. Oblivious to trends, they’ve seen neo-garage waves come and go, but they’ve stayed the same.
Adopting a retro pose is one thing, but for the Chesterfield Kings, time stopped in 1966.
