Artist Biography
L.A.-based power-pop trio the Nerves only lasted long enough to release one 1976 EP, without making much commercial impact, but in retrospect, they were something of a supergroup. They consisted of Peter Case, who went on to form the Plimsouls and then have a long solo career, Paul Collins, who founded influential power pop band the Beat, and Jack Lee, whose Nerves-era "Hanging on the Telephone" became a Blondie hit. The band broke up in 1978, but helped lay the groundwork for L.A.'s late-'70s and early-'80s power pop/New Wave scene.
