Artist Biography
American pop trio the Walker Brothers (not really brothers) relocated to England in the mid-1960s, where Philips Records snapped them up. The group neatly slotted into the gap left by the Righteous Brothers, emulating their rivals’ vocal power but with added film star looks. A string of melodramatic hit singles swiftly followed, notably the chart-topping Bacharach/David ballad "Make It Easy On Yourself," and "The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore." Although they continued to chart over the next two years, the quality of their material was generally less impressive, and in early 1967 the group elected to break up. An unexpected reunion in 1975 produced the excellent top 10 hit, "No Regrets," but the trio parted once more, and Scott Walker went on to solo acclaim.
