Artist Biography
A popular singer and actor from the 1930s through to the late '50s, Tony Martin is regarded as one of the most accomplished and stylish vocalists of his era. As an actor for 20th Century-Fox, he landing leading roles in film musicals such as Pigskin Parade and Banjo on My Knee and Music in My Heart (singing the Oscar-nominated "It's a Blue World" in the latter). Martin also enjoyed a successful recording career, with his first hits -- "Now It Can Be Told" and "South of the Border" -- coming in the late '30s and continuing for decades.
