Artist Biography
W-X is an experimental solo project of Tim Presley, a California-based musician best known as the founder of psychedelic rock bands White Fence and Darker My Love, and a former member of Strange Boys and the Fall. Unlike his primarily guitar-centric projects, his work as W-X finds him experimenting with drum machines and synthesizers, creating rambling, messy free-form soundscapes that recall the collage-like experimental rock of Faust (circa The Faust Tapes) as well as the blunted beat excursions of Madlib. John Dwyer's Castle Face label, which had previously released two White Fence albums, issued W-X's self-titled debut in November 2015. ~ Paul Simpson
