Shazam Encore and Shazam support 1st & 2nd generation iPod touch (external microphone required).
A note to iPod touch users: Shazam needs to hear the music sample, which means utilising a microphone (on the iPhone it's built in, on the iPod touch you can attach an Apple Stereo Headset which has a small microphone capsule). Hold the mic towards the music you wish to recognise and Shazam will do the rest!
Also, we recommend that you perform a Power Cycle of your device after installation.
Shazam will continue to support the existing free Shazam app on the App Store with new users limited to five Tags per month. Existing Shazam users will get all of these great features they've come to expect from Shazam without any limitations.
The Shazam Encore app is available for £2.99/ €3.99/ $4.99, depending on location, from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch.
Both Shazam apps are live in 22 countries across the world and local language versions are available in English (UK and US), German, Italian, Spanish, French, Dutch, Portuguese and Japanese.
