Anglo-Swedish outfit The Hoosiers (the nickname for a native of Indiana) introduced themselves to the British public when their first single 'Worried About Ray' shot to number five on the UK Singles Chart in 2007. They followed that with another top five entry 'Goodbye Mr. A' before the next two singles ran out of steam. However 2010 saw the band return with added vigour, a new album and the single 'Choices', complete with comedy video. Retaining the guitar pop feel of their previous releases the band have augmented their sound with some electronic elements, and the resulting update hasn't done them any harm at all. 'Choices' marries a driving synth arpeggio with a 4/4 beat, backing vocals and a barrage of guitars to produce a big sounding track with plenty of punch. The new direction beefs up their natural poppy instincts and adds a new layer of complexity to their sound. Mind you, if the band ever did want to give up music, judging by their videos, they could have an alternate career in comedic acting.
