Brazilian singer Adriana Calcanhotto released her debut album "Enguiço" in 1990, establishing herself as an MPB (Brazilian pop) champion at a time when rock was the flavour of the day. Since scoring a hit with a cover of Caetano Veloso's gentle "Naquela Estação", she gradually started releasing more of her own compositions.
