Trios
Playlist - 80 Songs
Typical during the Baroque era, trio sonatas were written for three solo melodic instruments and basso continuo doubling the bass part. Covering all historical chapters, trios have developed considerably down the centuries. Many of them are composed for piano, violin, and cello, but rarer combinations occur, too, like Mozart’s Kegelstatt Trio for clarinet, viola, and piano.
