First coming together in 1975, Steel Pulse have been challenging the forces of oppression ever since. One of the earliest UK reggae groups to achieve widespread international success, their early albums were vintage '70s roots, full of rolling bass-heavy grooves and fiery lyrics that chanted down Babylon. In the '80s, the band adopted a slicker pop-reggae sound and scored major hits in the US, but they soon returned to their classic righteous style, continuing to champion the rights of the people on furious but funky political anthems.
