UK groove merchants Morcheeba are masters of mellow vibes and airy hooks. Releasing their debut full-length in 1996, the group gained wide recognition for that record's follow up, 1998's Big Calm, featuring downtempo staple "The Sea." Though they've taken the occasional break, with vocalist Skye Edwards dropping the odd solo release, Morcheeba have released albums into the '10s. Their soulful melancholia has transcended its original label, trip-hop, becoming an enduring sound all its own.
