Bunga Citra Lestari got her start on a different kind of stage than one might think. Before she put her voice to lyrical use, she was speaking lines on a variety of Indonesian TV series. That experience onstage informs the kind of music BCL creates. Though she's got one hell of a set of vocal cords, her music is expertly balanced—theatrical but not gaudy, powerful but not overpowering.
