“These artists reignite my love for the arts, and their stories inspire me to be genuine in my own ways of expression,” award-winning visual artist and illustrator Neo Mahlangu tells Apple Music. Her work has found a home both in galleries around the world, and on South Africa’s currency. In 2019, Mahlangu became the youngest Black woman ever to design coins for the South African mint, and she’s passionate about creating a future where women are encouraged to pursue their dreams. “Being able to enjoy the privilege of our present day with these songs playing in the background as I dance, draw, love, travel or mingle is a sweet reminder of how far we’ve come.
