Dominican Republic-born Fernando Villalona began his singing career in the early '70s, and by the next decade his fame had transcended his home country borders. His dozens of albums and singles are beautifully produced — bolstered by punchy brass, blistering Latin percussion, and up-to-the moment beats and arranging.
