Spanish Composers
Playlist - 38 Songs
Hardly any other European country has been influenced by its own traditional music as much as Spain. Its history started with the works of famous Renaissance composers Tomás Luis de Victoria and Francisco Guerrero, and flourished during the 20th-century neo-classical movement, which praised nationalistic music and Spanish folk influences: Andalusian flamenco traditions, zarzuela, seguidilla, and fandango. Not to mention the emergence of the guitar as an accepted classical instrument, thanks to the advocacy of Andrés Segovia.
