Back in the '80s, Stetsasonic billed themselves as a hip-hop band. With Daddy-O and Prince Paul at the heart of their sound, the ensemble dropped a stone cold classic with 1986's On Fire, a project that was defined by snatches of upbeat live drum playing and funky bass lines. 1988's In Full Gear saw the group claiming their most famous hit with "Talkin' All That Jazz," a smart summary of the ins and outs of the sampling game. A final album dropped in 1991, Blood, Sweat & No Tears, and was headed up by the slinky Prince Paul-produced "Uda Man."
