About Connie Lovatt
Connie Lovatt is a New York-based singer, songwriter, and musician known for her work with indie rock bands like Containe, the Pacific Ocean, and Alkaline. Originally from the Caribbean island of St. Thomas, Lovatt began her career amid New York City's early-'90s indie scene, where she formed a close association with bands like Versus and Bill Callahan's Smog. Both of her primary projects, Containe and the Pacific Ocean, included members of Versus, and she also appeared as a member of Smog in the mid-2000s. By the decade's end, Lovatt had more or less bowed out of the music scene to raise a family. Inspired by her daughter, she later began writing again, and in 2023 she released her first-ever solo project, the lo-fi folk album Coconut Mirror, on Enchanté Records.
