About David Diaz
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
As a kid in New York, I would hear jazz, blues, or soul music playing from the stereo system in our living room every morning. I would just lay awake for a minute and listen to whatever was on before hoping out of bed to start my day.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Daft Punk, TRON: Legacy (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)
Julia Michaels, Inner Monologue, Pt. 1 - EP
Sasha Alex Sloan, I Blame The World
My favorite albums change pretty frequently, almost daily, but these in particular are so well written and so well produced that I always circle back to them.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Only I Get Sad”
I love this song because it was the beginning of my transition over to a more '80s leaning sound. I always include it in my sets at shows and it's so much fun to perform. It always connects with everyone in such a beautiful way, and I'm glad it does.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
I've made it a point to distance myself from the music industry and focus on myself, my music, and my supporters. I almost allowed the business aspect of music to rip the soul out of what I do, but now, I only make music for the fun and love of it.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
I would absolutely love to perform at the House of Blues in Orlando! It's where I saw my first show. I love the venue and the vibe. It would be so much fun!
