About Mt. Joy
Artist Biography
Formed by a pair of high school friends from Philadelphia who reunited a decade later in L.A., Mt. Joy crafts modern folk rock filled with lush harmonies and percussion-driven melodies.
∙ Although the band was conceived as nothing more than a casual side-project, its founding members dropped their day jobs after the viral success of their 2016 single, “Astrovan.”
∙ It took more than four months for “Silver Lining,” a meditative look at addiction from their self-titled 2018 debut, to climb to No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult Alternative Songs chart.
∙ Rolling Stone and NPR are among the outlets that have praised the band, with the latter naming them to its 2018 list of Slingshot Artists, a title given to public radio’s rising stars.
∙ Tucker Martine—named one of Paste’s 10 Best Producers of the Decade in 2009—worked on 2020’s Rearrange Us, which was a vinyl bestseller the week that it was released.
