Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was maybe 6 or 7 years old, I had my first performance on stage at the famous Gilley's in Pasadena, TX. Mickey Gillie saw an out of place me there, and invited me on stage to perform Stand By Me with him.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Eagles, Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 Jimmy Buffett, Songs You Know By Heart: Jimmy Buffett's Greatest Hit(s) Waylon Jennings, Ultimate Waylon Jennings These artist are a huge inspiration to my music. I would literally put them on repeat and listen to them all day long.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “A Chance” This song is special to me—it’s about meeting my wife. I knew she was the one immediately. She wasn’t ready at first, so we spent months as friends before starting a relationship. Twenty-five years later, we’re still going strong.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Every time I step onstage, it means something to me. After every show, at least one person tells me how a song touched them. That connection is why music matters—and why I love writing it.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? We’re just starting out, but my dream is to play the iconic Texas stages—Gruene Hall, Billy Bob’s Texas, and The Broken Spoke—within the next three years. I won’t feel we’re truly a Texas band until we do.
