About Loving
The Canadian group Loving play sparse, intimate songs that rarely rise above a bedroom whisper while still containing enough pop hooks to lodge them deep in the listener's memory bank. Each release has shown a growth in confidence, which has led to fuller arrangements and a richer sound. The band's first two, 2016's self-titled debut EP and 2020's If I Am Only My Thoughts, are home-cooked, subtle records that are imbued with melancholy sweetness. 2024's Any Light is studio recorded and shows that Loving are able to sound just as warm and cozy when surrounded by strings, trumpets, and other deluxe sounds.
