About The Boxer Rebellion
British indie rockers the Boxer Rebellion have won an international audience for their moody but engaging sound that combines guitars and electronics to powerful, evocative effect. Influenced by the likes of Radiohead, Coldplay, and the Verve, the group was founded by American expatriate Nathan Nicholson, and they made their debut with a major label release, 2005's Exits, but they found greater success on their own, making an impression on the U.S. and U.K. indie charts with 2009's Union, 2013's Promises, and 2016's Ocean by Ocean, all issued by their own Absentee imprint. After making their name with grandiose sounds, the Boxer Rebellion explored a more intimate approach on 2018's Ghost Alive, while they delivered some of their most impassioned music to date on 2026's The Second I'm Asleep.
