Formed in 2010, the Kyoto math rock band tricot has been embraced by US and UK audiences, despite only performing in Japanese.
∙ Their 2013 self-released first LP, T H E, peaked at No. 18 on the Oricon album chart.
∙ The Pixies handpicked tricot to open for them at Eden Sessions in Cornwall, UK, in 2014.
∙ In 2017, 3, the band’s third LP—and their first to be released in the US—reached No. 5 on the Billboard World Albums chart.
∙ They collaborated with two famous Japanese artists—visual artist Tondabayashi Ran and illustrator Asami Matsumura—for the artwork and merch for their 2020 album, 10.
