Artist Biography
UK singer-songwriter Jake Bugg started learning guitar at age 12, played Glastonbury at 16, and landed a No. 1 album (Jake Bugg) at 18.
∙ His self-titled LP debuted at the top of the UK Albums chart in 2012, and it went double-Platinum after spawning seven successful singles.
∙ The skiffle-tinged “Lightning Bolt” was Bugg’s Gold-selling, breakthrough single, reaching the UK Top 30 in 2013.
∙ Shangri La, his 2013 sophomore album, was produced by Rick Rubin and named in honor of the music icon’s Malibu recording studio.
∙ He won Best Solo Artist at the NME Awards and Best Male at the O2 Silver Clef Awards in 2015.
∙ In 2017, his Americana-influenced album, Hearts That Strain, features production and guitar work from The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach, as well as a bluesy duet with Noah Cyrus (“Waiting”).
